ACADEMY MATCH REPORT | HULL KR (A)

Bradford Bulls Academy fell to a late 28-14 defeat against Hull Kingston Rovers on Thursday night.

The Young Bulls got off to the perfect start when Jamie Gill sent Jacob Bateman over for a try from close range.

The Robins responded when a looping pass out wide sent Jake Parkes over in the corner.

Gill turned scorer from provider 15 minutes later, bursting through a gap 20 metres out and fending off a KR defender.

The home side hit back again with a flying finish in the left corner despite the best efforts of Bateman who looked to take his man into touch.

Hull KR hit the lead for the first time when a looping pass on the right sent Oli Forsyth racing home in the corner.

And with the hooter imminent, a short side play sent Parkes over for his second of the evening.

Glenn Morrison’s charges reduced the arrears in the second half when Calum Burn collected a kick and superbly stepped his opposite number to finish in the right corner.

With the game entering the closing stages, Freddie Watts collected his own grubber to score under the posts before Forsyth Notched his second on the hooter.
